Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is more than everyday worry — it is a persistent and excessive form of anxiety that can interfere with daily life, relationships, and overall well-being. People with GAD often find themselves worrying about multiple areas of life, such as work, health, finances, or family, even when there is little or no reason for concern.

At Thuja Health Services, we recognize that anxiety is a natural human response, but when it becomes constant and overwhelming, it can affect both the mind and body. Symptoms of GAD can include restlessness, muscle tension, fatigue, irritability, trouble concentrating, difficulty sleeping, and a sense of being “on edge.” Over time, this ongoing state of alertness can lead to exhaustion and emotional burnout.

The exact cause of GAD is not fully understood, but it is often linked to a combination of genetic, environmental, and psychological factors. Stressful life events, trauma, or ongoing health issues can also contribute to its development. Importantly, experiencing anxiety does not mean you are weak — it means your mind and body are trying to cope with prolonged stress.

Treatment for GAD focuses on helping individuals manage their thoughts, emotions, and physical responses to stress. At Thuja Health Services, our clinicians use evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), relaxation training, and mindfulness techniques to promote calm and control. In some cases, medication may also be recommended to help regulate anxiety symptoms.

With the right support, recovery is possible. Our team at Thuja Health Services provides a compassionate environment where you can understand your anxiety, learn practical coping skills, and regain confidence in your daily life. You don’t have to face anxiety alone — healing and peace of mind are within reach.
